Operations Manager – Supply Chain & Inventory (Furniture Manufacturing)

About the role

We are seeking an Operations Manager to lead the supply chain and inventory functions for the Education division of a global furniture manufacturer. Based in Farringdon, you will work hybrid (3 days on‑site, 2 days remote) and collaborate closely with the Education Sales Director and Sales Support Manager to ensure product availability and drive operational efficiency.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and manage annual stock plans, maintaining optimal inventory levels and product availability.
• Monitor stock performance, forecasting and demand planning, proactively managing supply risks.
• Build and maintain relationships with suppliers, manufacturers and logistics partners.
• Drive supplier performance through KPI management, improving service, quality, lead times and cost efficiency.
• Ensure products meet testing, certification and compliance standards.
• Approve supplier invoices and oversee accuracy of operational processes.
• Provide weekly operational updates and performance reporting to senior management.
• Identify opportunities to improve efficiency, reduce costs and enhance customer satisfaction.
• Lead continuous improvement initiatives and support business continuity planning.

Required profile

• Proven experience in operations and supply chain management within a manufacturing environment.
• Demonstrated ability in inventory planning, demand forecasting and supplier management.
• Strong stakeholder management and communication skills.
• Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel to UK sites.

Required skills

• Advanced Microsoft Excel.
• Experience with ERP systems.
