Part-Time ESOL & English Tutor (4 positions)

About the role

Join Adult Learning Lewisham as a part‑time ESOL, COMESOL or Functional Skills English tutor. You will work with adult learners from diverse backgrounds, helping them improve their English and achieve qualifications such as GCSE.

Key responsibilities

• Assess learners’ needs and allocate them to appropriate courses.
• Plan, prepare and deliver ESOL, COMESOL or Functional Skills English lessons.
• Provide support during the course to ensure progress and attainment of goals.
• Maintain accurate records and use the council’s MIS and VLE systems.
• Collaborate with other tutors to develop a timetable that fits your availability.

Required profile

• Passionate about teaching ESOL and English to adult learners.
• Experience delivering ESOL, COMESOL or Functional Skills English courses.
• Flexibility to teach daytime, evening or cover absent tutors.
• Commitment to supporting learners’ personal and professional development.
