About the role
Dalhousie University seeks a part‑time academic to teach the online course SLWK 3102 – Advancing Social Justice during the Fall 2026 term. The role is focused on delivering a critical, reflective learning experience that explores social justice concepts, assumptions, and practices.
Key responsibilities
- Prepare and deliver weekly online lectures using the Brightspace learning platform.
- Design, grade, and provide feedback on assignments and assessments.
- Offer virtual consultation and support to students throughout the semester.
- Engage in course preparation activities for 1–2 months prior to course launch.
- Maintain course materials, discussion forums, and assessment rubrics in an online environment.
Required profile
- Extensive experience in social work or related fields with a strong focus on social justice.
- Master of Social Work (MSW) degree or higher.
- Previous teaching experience, preferably in an online setting.
Required skills
- Proficiency with the Brightspace Learning Management System.
