Part-Time Relationship Manager – Music

About the role

We are looking to secure two part‑time Music Relationship Manager posts within the British Council’s Music team. The role will support connections between the UK and international music sectors, helping to develop inclusive and sustainable programmes.

Key responsibilities

• Build and maintain professional networks across the UK contemporary music sector.
• Provide specialist music expertise and programme management support to global teams.
• Identify and develop diverse partners for music projects and programmes.
• Maintain valuable relationships with internal partners and key stakeholders.
• Contribute to the development and presentation of music project proposals.
• Oversee implementation of approved music programmes to ensure effective delivery.
• Deliver advice and quality control to external delivery organisations.
• Identify programme issues, propose solutions and support delivery partners.
• Advise on business development, tender submissions and sponsorship appeals.
• Plan and prioritize work within a matrix‑working environment.
• Champion an inclusive, anti‑racist organisational culture.

Required profile

• Extensive experience in the UK music sector with a wide professional network.
• Strong knowledge of UK music practice and partnership management.
• Ability to work effectively in a complex matrix structure.
• Understanding of equality, diversity and inclusion principles.
