Part‑time Sales Assistant (Retail – Tile Specialist)

About the role

Topps Tiles, the UK’s leading tile retailer, is looking for a part‑time Sales Assistant to join a small, supportive store team in Shipley. You will help customers visualise their projects, provide expert product advice and create a memorable shopping experience.

Key responsibilities

• Build long‑standing relationships with trade and retail customers using a consultative sales approach.
• Ask the right questions to understand customer needs and recommend the best tile products.
• Inspire customers with colour, style, layout and design ideas.
• Drive sales through expert product knowledge and confident closing techniques.
• Maintain a tidy store environment and assist with stock handling, including lifting heavy boxes.

Required profile

• Outgoing, friendly and energetic with a passion for helping customers.
• Willingness to learn about tiles and retail processes; no prior experience required.
• Ability to work 20 hours per week, including occasional weekends, and lift heavy items safely.
