Payroll Senior

About the role

LGS Vision Recruitment is supporting a forward‑thinking firm of accountants in the City of London. The Payroll Senior will manage a portfolio of client payrolls, delivering accurate and timely services across multiple sectors.

Key responsibilities

• Manage a portfolio of up to 270 client payrolls (largest payroll 90 employees), ensuring accuracy and compliance.
• Handle auto‑enrolment and pension schemes such as NEST, Smart Pension and People’s Pension.
• Respond to payroll queries and provide excellent client service.
• Support senior team members with complex payroll matters.
• Meet all payroll deadlines consistently.
• Maintain up‑to‑date knowledge of payroll legislation and best practice.

Required profile

• Experience with BrightPay or similar multi‑client payroll software.
• Exposure to workflow or practice‑management tools (e.g., Karbon) – a plus.
• Background in managing a multi‑client caseload within a bureau or practice environment.
• Comfortable being the primary point of contact for client queries.
• Experience scoping and onboarding new payroll clients.
• Ability to advise on payroll issues beyond processing, such as salary sacrifice, NI categories and benefits in kind.
• Strong deadline management skills.

• Salary up to £40,000‑£45,000 per year.
