Place Specialist

About the role

We are seeking a proactive Place Specialist to join the West Midlands Growth Company in Birmingham. The role will drive inward and capital investment projects for designated local authorities, acting as the key link between the authority and regional investment initiatives.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and convert local investment projects from initial interest to successful delivery.
• Serve as the primary broker between WMGC and the local authority, integrating authority priorities into regional investment activity.
• Coordinate place‑specific promotion, maintain an integrated pipeline and produce performance and governance reports.
• Develop investment propositions and marketing collateral in partnership with local authority teams.
• Engage directly with local authority service teams to respond to investor requirements.
• Build and maintain relationships with developers, commercial agents and property partners to keep the local offer credible and up‑to‑date.
