Plant Technical Expert

About the role

The Plant Technical Expert will join the Technical Services & EHS team at AB InBev’s Enfield brewery, reporting to the Technical Services & EHS Manager. The role focuses on delivering effective maintenance, improving equipment reliability and supporting continuous improvement of automated brewing and packaging lines.

Key responsibilities

• Monitor equipment on the shop floor, diagnose faults and drive corrective actions to maximise uptime.
• Execute planned preventive and corrective maintenance schedules for automated and PLC‑controlled machinery.
• Lead ATO deep‑cleaning and tagging exercises and validate SOPs, CILs and SWIs for autonomous teams.
• Collaborate with the Maintenance Planner to stage parts and ensure long‑term maintenance plans are in place.
• Provide technical escalation support for breakdowns and coach operators and engineers on equipment optimisation.
• Participate in reliability events, 5S audits and continuous improvement activities such as 5‑Why analysis.

Required profile

• Qualified Mechanical or Electrical Engineer, with the ability to work across both disciplines.
• Proven experience in a high‑speed manufacturing or brewing environment, delivering process improvements at a technical‑expert level.
• In‑depth knowledge of brewing and packaging equipment, refrigeration, steam and compressed‑air systems.
• Strong fault‑finding and troubleshooting skills in mechanical, electrical and automation domains.
• Ability to work safely in a fast‑paced, changing environment and prioritize multiple maintenance requests.
