Platform Engineer

About the role

This is a hands‑on engineering role within the Platform Engineering team, part of Technology Operations. You will design, build, automate and operate a hybrid production platform across AWS and on‑premises environments, with a focus on HashiCorp tools such as Nomad, Consul and Vault.

Key responsibilities

• Design, build, automate and operate the production platform across AWS and on‑premises infrastructure.
• Own and evolve the HashiCorp stack (Vault, Consul, Nomad) and its integrations.
• Define and manage infrastructure resources with Terraform and create reusable modules.
• Support multi‑stage deployment workflows using Ansible.
• Develop internal tooling and self‑service capabilities to boost developer productivity.
• Enhance CI/CD pipelines and ensure safe promotion of infrastructure changes.
• Improve platform reliability, security, observability and performance.
• Collaborate with software engineers, quantitative developers, research teams and security colleagues.

Required profile

• Minimum five years of experience in platform engineering, DevOps, SRE or related fields.
• Hands‑on experience with HashiCorp technologies (Nomad, Consul, Vault).
• Strong Linux systems administration and networking knowledge.
• Proven expertise with Terraform and Ansible.
• Experience building automation with Python, Go or Bash.
• Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering or related discipline, or equivalent practical experience.
