Platform Engineer – Remote (6‑month contract)

About the role

We are seeking a Platform Engineer to join our team on a six‑month contract, working remotely with occasional travel. The role focuses on building and enhancing a modern Developer Experience (DevEx) platform for public‑sector clients, requiring strong expertise in CI/CD, Kubernetes and cloud‑native tooling.

Key responsibilities

• Design, implement and maintain reusable GitLab CI/CD components.
• Deploy, scale and troubleshoot Kubernetes clusters and workloads.
• Develop and operate cloud‑native platform services using Infrastructure as Code.
• Create self‑service tooling and internal developer portals (e.g., Backstage) to improve developer productivity.
• Automate platform provisioning, templating and monitoring.
• Collaborate with development teams to resolve platform issues and enable faster delivery.

Required profile

• Significant experience in platform engineering, preferably within the public sector.
• Security clearance at SC level preferred or BPSS minimum.
• Ability to work remotely for the contract duration with occasional on‑site visits.
• Six‑month contract, outside IR35.
