Policy Officer

About the role

The National Housing Federation is seeking a Policy Officer to shape housing policy, focusing on housing management, homelessness and supported housing. You will become the expert in your assigned policy areas, working closely with our member housing associations.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and refine policy ideas and solutions in collaboration with members.
• Engage with members and external stakeholders to identify opportunities and challenges in the housing sector.
• Monitor the policy environment, latest research and issues affecting housing.
• Contribute to high‑profile NHF events, campaigns and public consultations.
• Influence strategic stakeholders and policymakers to advance NHF priorities.

Required profile

• Strong understanding of policy development processes.
• Significant experience working in a policy‑focused role, preferably within housing or related sectors.
• Ability to build relationships with members, partners and senior decision‑makers.

• Salary £31,994 – £36,493 per annum (GBP).
