Pricing Lead / Manager (Freight)

About the role

The Freight Pricing Lead will own the end‑to‑end process of creating competitive and profitable freight quotations across air, ocean and road services. Working closely with sales, operations and carrier partners, the role ensures pricing accuracy, market competitiveness and strong profit margins while delivering excellent service to internal and external customers.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare accurate, timely customer quotations and tender responses within agreed service levels.
• Source, negotiate and maintain freight rates with carriers, airlines, shipping lines and hauliers.
• Update and manage pricing databases, carrier tariffs and rate sheets.
• Provide commercial pricing analysis and tailored freight solutions to the sales team.
• Monitor market trends, capacity changes and competitor pricing to keep offerings competitive.
• Verify all pricing components – freight rates, surcharges, customs fees and ancillary charges – to achieve target profit margins.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with carriers and logistics partners to secure favourable terms.
• Collaborate with Operations and Customer Service to align pricing with operational capabilities.
• Lead a small team of two, ensuring workflow efficiency and high quotation‑to‑order conversion.

Required profile

• Previous experience in freight forwarding, logistics, transport or supply‑chain pricing.
• Strong knowledge of air, ocean and road freight pricing structures, surcharges, trade lanes and Incoterms.
• Excellent analytical and numerical abilities with high attention to detail.
• Proven communication, negotiation and relationship‑management skills.
• Ability to work under pressure while handling multiple quotations and deadlines.

Required skills

• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
• Experience with freight pricing or transport management systems.
