Prison Security Escort – HMP Belmarsh

About the role

You will join a security team at HMP Belmarsh, working alongside the prison service to escort and supervise contractors carrying out maintenance work. The role is temporary with the possibility of becoming long‑term, offering a structured schedule and full training.

Key responsibilities

• Verify contractor identification and ensure they are briefed on security procedures.
• Escort contractors throughout the prison to their designated work areas.
• Supervise contractors while they work, remaining with them at all times.
• Check that all tools are accounted for before contractors leave the work area.
• Use the radio system to request movement permissions within the prison.

Required profile

• Strong communication abilities.
• Excellent attention to detail and safety awareness.
• Residency in the UK for at least three years.
• Ability to pass security vetting, including references and police checks.

• £14.42 per hour (overtime £19.18 after 39 hours).
