Private Client Assistant Manager – Tax Advisory

About the role

This position manages a portfolio of private clients, delivering high‑level advisory and compliance tax services. You will also help grow the team through mentoring, business development and cross‑functional collaboration.

Key responsibilities

• Manage a portfolio of private clients with a focus on advisory‑led work.
• Lead and deliver complex private client tax projects, preparing detailed reports.
• Oversee personal tax compliance, ensuring accuracy and timely submissions.
• Build and maintain strong client relationships as a trusted advisor.
• Identify value‑adding opportunities and support wider business development initiatives.
• Mentor, train and support junior team members.
• Stay up to date with tax legislation and share technical knowledge internally.
• Collaborate with other departments on cross‑service client work.
• Represent the firm at networking events and technical contributions.

Required profile

• CTA, ACA or ACCA qualified (or equivalent).
• Strong experience in private client tax, both advisory and compliance.
• Proven ability to manage client relationships and deliver high‑quality advice.
• Experience mentoring or managing junior staff.
• Commercially aware with a proactive approach to identifying opportunities.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Organised with the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.
