Private Client Tax Associate Director

About the role

The Private Client Tax team is seeking an Associate Director to lead strategic advisory projects and nurture client relationships. You will work in a hybrid model from Birmingham, collaborating with partners and senior staff to deliver high‑quality tax services.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain and grow existing client relationships while acting as the first point of contact for new business.
• Lead advisory and technical tax projects, ensuring delivery within budget and to a high standard.
• Collaborate with partners to identify and develop business development opportunities.
• Mentor and develop junior team members, providing on‑the‑job training and performance feedback.
• Coordinate with other departments to address comprehensive client needs.
• Brief junior staff on assignments, supervise work completion, and ensure quality control.

Required profile

• CTA and/or ACA qualified, or equivalent experience.
• Strong practical knowledge of tax issues affecting private clients.
• Proven experience in client handling, project management, and delivering advisory reports.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
• Experience managing a portfolio of personal tax compliance and advisory work.
• Interest in mentoring and developing junior staff.
