Product Designer (Staff/Principal level)

About the role

Synthesia is seeking a Staff/Principal Product Designer to lead the design of its core video creation and editing experience. You will shape the way customers script, build, collaborate on, and publish videos at scale, driving the vision for a platform that aims to become as ubiquitous as word processors and spreadsheets.

Key responsibilities

• Own end‑to‑end design of the creation/editor experience, from problem framing to shipped outcomes.
• Set a design vision for the editor and ensure coherence across related product surfaces.
• Partner with Product and Engineering to define quality standards, success metrics, and design principles.
• Prototype and test interaction models quickly, escalating to high‑fidelity when needed.
• Raise the craft bar in interaction design, UI quality, systems thinking, and consistency.

Required profile

• Proven experience leading design for complex, high‑impact digital products.
• Ability to influence roadmap decisions and set direction as a senior individual contributor.
• Strong collaboration skills with cross‑functional teams.
