Project Portfolio Analyst

About the role

As a Project Portfolio Analyst within a leading financial services organisation, you will support the technology department by maintaining an up‑to‑date view of the IT project portfolio, tracking performance, managing risks and ensuring resources are allocated efficiently.

Key responsibilities

• Keep the IT project portfolio information current, including approvals, completions, timelines, milestones, benefits and financial data.
• Ensure projects comply with EMEA IT governance, SMBC’s wider governance and DORA regulations.
• Provide feedback on project documentation submitted to the IT Project Forum.
• Partner with TDMs to deliver accurate financial forecasting, actuals tracking and variance analysis.
• Review and challenge project status reports and administer meeting packs, minutes and actions.
• Develop and produce management information for IT Management, the Executive Committee, the Board and Head Office.
• Advise Domain Heads and TDMs on processes, procedures and budgeting requirements.
• Define, document and communicate project and portfolio management processes.
• Promote the use of ServiceNow PPM and SharePoint for portfolio tracking and reporting.

Required profile

• Experience in managing or analysing IT project portfolios, preferably in financial services.
• Strong understanding of project governance, financial management and regulatory compliance (e.g., DORA).
• Ability to produce clear management information and support budgeting cycles.
• Excellent stakeholder communication and collaboration skills.
