Purchase Ledger Clerk – 3‑6 Month Project

About the role

We are recruiting a Purchase Ledger Clerk to join a prestigious organisation in Liverpool City Centre on a 3–6 month project. The successful candidate will own the end‑to‑end purchase ledger process, supporting the finance team through a period of heightened workload and ensuring timely and accurate payments.

Key responsibilities

• Manage the full purchase ledger process from invoice receipt through to payment, ensuring each step is completed accurately.
• Process a high volume of invoices efficiently while maintaining strict attention to detail.
• Match invoices to purchase orders, investigate and resolve any discrepancies promptly.
• Perform supplier statement reconciliations to keep accounts up to date.
• Respond to supplier queries, providing clear and professional communication.
• Prepare and support regular payment runs, ensuring deadlines are met.
• Maintain accurate and up‑to‑date supplier records within the finance system.
• Assist with wider finance duties and project‑related tasks as required.

Required profile

• Previous accountancy experience, ideally in a busy purchase ledger role.
• Confidence in managing the full purchase ledger process from start to finish.
• Comfortable working in a fast‑paced finance environment.
• Strong attention to detail and a high level of accuracy.
• Good communication and organisational skills.
• Ability to work independently and hit the ground running.

What we offer

• Salary between £30,000 and £35,000 per year.
