Purchase/Sales Ledger Clerk

About the role

Join a thriving SME in the accounting sector as a Purchase/Sales Ledger Clerk. You will support day‑to‑day accounts administration, ensuring accurate invoicing, ledger maintenance and timely payment collection.

Key responsibilities

• Post and reconcile purchase and sales invoices.
• Enter data accurately to support financial operations.
• Maintain purchase and sales ledgers with attention to detail.
• Chase overdue payments and assist credit control.
• Provide general accounts administration support to the wider team.

Required profile

• Strong numeracy and basic accounting competence.
• Ability to manage the accounts email inbox and answer calls confidently.
• Independent handling of cash and despatch payments after initial training.
• Capability to process weekly payroll and support month‑end activities.

Required skills

• Experience with an ERP system.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
• Familiarity with SAP.
• Knowledge of Sage payroll.
