Qualified Management Accountant

About the role

Axon Moore is partnering with a fast‑growing professional services business in Manchester city centre to hire a qualified Management Accountant. You will join a small, collaborative team and take ownership of key financial processes while supporting senior leadership.

Key responsibilities

• Produce monthly management accounts and VAT returns.
• Manage month‑end processes and financial reporting.
• Maintain financial records using cloud‑based accounting systems.
• Monitor cash flow, banking activities and financial transactions.
• Approve office and client account payments in line with regulatory requirements.
• Support statutory accounts and year‑end audit processes.
• Manage work‑in‑progress, invoicing and debt collection.
• Act as the main finance contact for internal stakeholders.
• Support compliance with regulatory and statutory requirements.
• Identify opportunities to improve financial processes, reporting and automation.
• Work closely with senior leadership to support business growth.

Required profile

• Fully qualified ACCA or CIMA.
• Experience producing management accounts and managing the month‑end process.
• Experience with cloud‑based accounting software (e.g., Xero) is advantageous.
• Strong understanding of financial controls and compliance.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
• High attention to detail and strong organisational abilities.
• Professional approach to finances within a collaborative environment.

• Salary £50,000‑£55,000 dependent on experience.
