R&D Principal Technologist – Platform Engineering

About the role

We are seeking a talented R&D Principal Technologist to join AVEVA’s E&D Foundations team in Cambridge. You will help design, build and maintain core software components that underpin our Dabacon product suite, working with a range of modern technologies in a hybrid environment.

Key responsibilities

• Develop a deep understanding of software modules, infrastructure and the contexts in which they run.
• Design, implement and maintain core components used by multiple product teams.
• Make sound technical decisions to ensure timely delivery of solutions.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams following Agile and Scrum practices.
• Support continuous integration and delivery pipelines and contribute to platform engineering initiatives.

Required profile

• Proven ability to deliver high‑quality code quickly and reliably.
• Strong problem‑solving skills with a passion for tackling complex technical challenges.
• Willingness to learn new technologies through self‑education, training and mentoring.
• Experience working in legacy software environments and following Agile methodologies.
