Reactive Resolution Support Operative – Utilities Fleet Support

About the role

We are looking for Reactive Resolution Support Operatives to assist United Utilities’ fleet team at the Davy Hulme wastewater treatment works. The role involves preparing wagons, conducting stock takes and maintaining a clean, safe yard to enable efficient operations.

Key responsibilities

• Inspect vehicles and emergency plant kits for defects and report them to the Drainage Delivery Manager.
• Prepare Cityflex, van pack units and emergency plant kits for shift deployment.
• Carry out first‑line maintenance on vehicles, stores and specialist equipment.
• Ensure calibration and certification of man‑entry gear, gas detectors and CCTV equipment.
• Maintain tidy yard and changing areas in line with H&S and transport standards.
• Manage stock levels, record access to stores and raise purchase orders.
• Audit vehicle cleanliness and safety compliance before release.

Required profile

• Ability to work 30 hours per week, Monday‑Friday.
• Commitment to a 12‑month fixed‑term contract.
• Attention to detail and strong health‑and‑safety awareness.

Required skills

• Vehicle inspection and defect reporting.
• Equipment calibration (gas detectors, man‑entry gear).
• Basic maintenance of fleet vehicles and emergency plant.
• Use of CCTV and related specialist equipment.
