Regional EHS Leader – EMEA (Director)

About the role

The Regional EHS Leader – EMEA (Director) will be responsible for defining and executing the environmental health, safety and sustainability (EHS&S) strategy across the Europe, Middle East and Africa region for DePuy Synthes, a Johnson & Johnson orthopaedics business. This senior position will guide how EHS&S supports business performance, protects enterprise value and drives sustainable operations during and after the planned separation of the orthopaedics unit.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and implement a unified EHS&S strategy, governance framework and risk posture for all EMEA sites.
• Ensure compliance with local, regional and international EHS regulations and standards.
• Lead risk assessments, incident investigations and continuous‑improvement programmes.
• Partner with business leaders to integrate EHS&S considerations into operational decisions.
• Oversee regional EHS&S reporting, metrics and performance dashboards.
• Support the transition to the new DePuy Synthes entity, including stakeholder communication and change management.

Required profile

• Proven senior leadership experience in environmental health, safety or sustainability, preferably within a multinational industrial or healthcare environment.
• Deep knowledge of EMEA EHS regulations and best practices.
• Strong ability to influence senior executives and drive cross‑functional initiatives.
• Willingness to be based in Ringaskiddy (Ireland), Suzhou (China), Tokyo (Japan), Leeds (UK) or Singapore.
