Residential Care Assistant – £23 per hour

About the role

We are seeking compassionate Residential Care Assistants to join established care homes across the West Midlands and remote island locations in Scotland. You will deliver person‑centred support to older adults, helping them maintain dignity and independence in a safe environment.

Key responsibilities

• Provide daily personal care, including hygiene, dressing and mobility assistance.
• Administer prescribed medication safely and monitor residents’ health status.
• Follow individual care plans and document care activities accurately.
• Support a safe living environment through proper moving and handling techniques.
• Work collaboratively with the care team, including occasional lone‑working duties.

Required profile

• Minimum of 1 year experience supporting older adults in a care setting.
• Willingness to work 5‑6 days a week, 45+ hours per week.
• Flexibility to relocate or travel to island placements if required.
• Driving licence preferred but not mandatory.
• Female candidates preferred for personal care duties, with occasional male support possible.

Required skills

• Proficiency in personal care and safe moving & handling.
• Competence in medication administration.
• Ability to follow care plans and maintain accurate records.
