Retail Growth Manager

About the role

Proman UK is a premium food and beverage manufacturer looking to expand its physical retail footprint. As the Retail Growth Manager you will build a new retail channel from the ground up, working closely with commercial and e‑commerce teams to align brand, pricing and customer insight.

Key responsibilities

• Identify and target suitable retail accounts across independent retailers, health food stores, premium food shops, smaller chains and regional groups.
• Approach, open and develop new retail customers, managing trials, sampling and follow‑up.
• Secure first orders, drive repeat business and maintain a clear B2B pipeline with structured reporting.
• Gather market feedback from retailers and customers to inform product, pricing and format decisions.
• Collaborate with the commercial team on B2B tools, trade materials, CRM, pricing discipline and brand alignment.
• Connect retail activity with e‑commerce, Amazon and broader customer insight strategies.

Required profile

• Experience in premium food, health food, speciality retail, challenger FMCG, independent grocery, farm shops, delis or regional retailers.
• Proven track record of opening new accounts and developing independent trade.
• Hands‑on, commercially disciplined approach with the ability to build a retail channel from scratch.
• Strong relationship‑building skills and the confidence to gather and feed market insight back into commercial strategy.

Required skills

What we offer

• Salary up to £50,000 DOE.
• Performance‑related bonus up to 20% of base salary.
• Car allowance of £6,000 per annum.
• Manchester‑based role with national travel.
