Risk & Permanent Controls Internship

About the role

The Risk & Permanent Controls Intern will support CACEIS UK Branch’s Risk department in monitoring and managing operational, credit and regulatory risks. Working closely with local risk teams and Group Risk functions in Luxembourg and Paris, the intern will contribute to the implementation of the internal control framework and the preparation of risk reports.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain the UK Branch’s business risk profile and fulfill risk obligations.
• Support the internal control framework, including second‑level control testing and assessment of first‑line controls.
• Prepare and submit control results, reports and assessment indicators to local and Group risk teams.
• Monitor daily risk reports, review portfolio limits and track any limit breaches through to remediation.
• Assist with transaction monitoring, cash‑flow forecasting and client onboarding or liquidation processes.
• Record and manage communications with regulators, ensuring timely submission of regulatory deliverables.
• Contribute to Risk Committee materials and support ad‑hoc investigations and project‑driven analyses.
• Maintain and update permanent controls, policies and procedures to ensure compliance.

Required profile

• Enrolled in or recent graduate of a Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Risk, Economics or a related field.
• Strong interest in operational risk, credit risk and regulatory compliance.
• Analytical mindset with ability to assess control effectiveness and identify deficiencies.
• Good written and verbal communication skills in English.
