Safety and Security Specialist

About the role

The Safety and Security Specialist protects Right To Play’s people, assets, and programmes by leading risk‑management activities across diverse, often volatile environments. Reporting to the Chief People and Culture Officer, the role ensures that robust policies, preparedness plans, and incident‑response frameworks are in place to enable safe programme delivery.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and adapt security measures for all programme delivery methods.
• Provide technical oversight to in‑country Safety and Security Focal Points.
• Lead the creation and maintenance of safety policies, emergency plans, and incident‑response protocols.
• Advise senior leadership on security risks and mitigation strategies.
• Monitor key performance indicators related to security and report to the Executive Team.

Required profile

• Proven experience in safety and security risk management, preferably in humanitarian or non‑profit settings.
• Ability to work independently and mentor a network of country focal points.
• Strong analytical skills and capacity to develop adaptable security frameworks.
• Eligibility to work legally in the selected country without sponsorship.
