About the role
Hays Education is partnering with a successful secondary school in East London to hire a dedicated Science Teacher for a September 2026 start. You will join a well‑established Science department that consistently achieves strong academic results.
Key responsibilities
- Teach Science across Key Stages 3 and 4, with optional KS5 teaching for qualified candidates.
- Deliver engaging, practical lessons that inspire curiosity.
- Plan, prepare and assess work in line with departmental policies.
- Support students of all abilities to achieve their full potential and prepare them for GCSE examinations.
- Maintain high standards of behaviour and classroom management.
- Contribute to the wider life of the department and school community.
Required profile
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
- Experience teaching Science in a UK secondary school setting.
- Specialism in Biology, Chemistry or Physics is welcomed.
- Strong subject knowledge and passion for science education.
- Commitment to safeguarding and promoting student welfare.
