Security Assistant – Campus Safety Role

About the role
University College Birmingham is looking for a Security Assistant to join its 24/7/365 campus security team. You will help keep the campus safe, secure and welcoming for students, staff and visitors.
Key responsibilities
- Work a rotating schedule covering day, evening, night and weekend shifts.
- Patrol campus areas and respond to incidents or emergencies.
- Monitor CCTV systems and report any security concerns.
- Enforce university security policies and support visitors.
- Maintain a calm, professional demeanor when dealing with challenging situations.
Required profile
- Previous experience in a security, enforcement or public‑facing safety role.
- Strong communication skills and a customer‑focused approach.
- Ability to remain calm and professional under pressure.
- Valid SIA licence (or eligibility to obtain one).
