Security Engineer

About the role

Join ClearBank’s Security Engineering team as a Security Engineer, reporting to the Engineering Manager. You will help reduce cyber risk, embed security across initiatives and work with modern technologies such as AI, AKS, automation and scalable solutions.

Key responsibilities

• Work alongside other security engineers to understand the organisation’s processes and technologies.
• Collaborate with software development and platform teams to deliver and maintain secure products using modern technologies.
• Champion security best practices and run security consultations and training sessions.
• Trial new technologies and pave the way for their adoption.
• Support existing security tooling and evaluate new tools as they become available.
• Perform risk‑based vulnerability management, balancing security, customer and business needs and communicate risks to the business.

Required profile

• Experience writing code and working in a cloud‑native environment, preferably with Azure.NET, Terraform and Kubernetes.
• Adaptability and commitment to continuous learning and self‑development.
• Strong communication skills to clearly articulate security risks and improvements to varied stakeholders.
• Good security knowledge and enthusiasm for software security.
• Understanding of common software vulnerabilities and ability to describe them to different audiences.
• Motivated team player focused on delivery and suggesting improvements.
