SEN Teacher – EYFS Class (1-year contract)

About the role

We are seeking a dedicated SEN Teacher to lead an EYFS class of six pupils with Severe Learning Difficulties (SLD) in an Islington special school. The role is a one‑year contract with a daily rate of £200‑£250, inclusive of holiday pay.

Key responsibilities

• Plan and deliver a sensory‑based curriculum for EYFS pupils.
• Focus on developing speech, communication and social skills.
• Collaborate closely with two learning support assistants.
• Adapt lessons to meet the needs of children with SLD, ASD and PMLD.
• Maintain records and contribute to individual education plans.

Required profile

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS), QTLS, or overseas equivalent.
• Flexible, proactive and able to work independently.
• Patience, caring nature and strong self‑belief.
• Experience in SEN settings or with ASD/SLD is advantageous but not essential.

Required skills

• Experience teaching EYFS or early years curriculum.
• Knowledge of sensory‑based teaching approaches.
• Ability to support speech and communication development.
