SEN Teaching Assistant – 1:1 Support for Year 9 Student

About the role
We are seeking a caring, patient, and resilient SEN Teaching Assistant to provide 1:1 support for a Year 9 female student with autism and challenging behaviour. The role is based in a supportive secondary school environment and may involve personal care.
Key responsibilities
- Support the student throughout the school day to keep her engaged and confident.
- Provide assistance with personal care when required.
- Help manage and de‑escalate challenging behaviour.
- Build a positive, trusting relationship with the student.
Required profile
- Experience as a SEN Teaching Assistant, support worker, youth worker, or care assistant.
- Background in psychology or autism support is welcomed.
- Empathy, kindness, professionalism and the ability to remain calm under pressure.
