SEN Tutor – Flexible Part‑time Role in St Helens

About the role

Randstad partners with schools across the North West to provide specialist tutoring for SEN pupils. The role involves both face‑to‑face and online tuition, following individual EHCP plans to build core knowledge and boost confidence.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver tailored 1:1 or small‑group sessions (up to 1:6) that accommodate diverse learning styles.
• Create lesson plans aligned with EHCP objectives and each student’s interests.
• Assess student progress and record attainment using Randstad’s internal reporting system.
• Collaborate with schools, foster carers and social workers to ensure holistic support.
• Operate strictly in accordance with KCSIE and safeguarding guidelines.

Required profile

• Inspiring QTS/NQTs, Teaching Assistants (Level 1‑3), HLTAs or graduates eager to start a career in education.
• Minimum 6 months experience working with SEN, disengaged youth or alternative provisions.
• Ability to manage challenging behaviours with patience and empathy.
• Strong IT competency with laptop/computer access and stable broadband for online sessions.
• Valid DBS on the Update Service or willingness to obtain one.
