SEND Teacher – Key Stage 2 – Complex Learning Needs

About the role

We are seeking a passionate SEND Teacher to join our all‑through special school in Birmingham. You will teach a small Key Stage 2 class of pupils with complex learning needs, delivering creative and individualized lessons that inspire confidence and progress.

Key responsibilities

• Plan and deliver differentiated lessons for a Key Stage 2 SEND class.
• Create a positive, structured learning environment that promotes engagement.
• Collaborate closely with Teaching Assistants to provide consistent support.
• Implement strategies for pupils with Autism, Moderate Learning Difficulties and communication challenges.
• Build strong relationships with pupils, families and external professionals.
• Support emotional regulation and communication development.
• Use sensory activities and creative approaches to foster independence.
• Monitor progress, keep detailed records and contribute to EHCP reviews.

Required profile

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) and experience or strong interest in SEND teaching.
• Understanding of strategies for complex learning needs.
• Excellent communication, teamwork and organisational skills.
• Patient, creative and compassionate approach.
