Senior Accounts Assistant

About the role

We are looking for a Senior Accounts Assistant to join a leading blue‑chip investment trust in Manchester. You will work within a high‑volume shared services environment, supporting the accounts payable function and helping to improve financial processes.

Key responsibilities

• Process supplier invoices accurately and within agreed deadlines.
• Match invoices to purchase orders and resolve any discrepancies.
• Enter and maintain transactions in the ERP and accounts payable systems.
• Respond to supplier and internal payment queries promptly and professionally.
• Support the billing team with client recharge processing.
• Monitor accounts payable controls and ensure compliance with company policies.
• Resolve escalated supplier issues and maintain positive vendor relationships.
• Manage Zendesk tickets in line with service level agreements.
• Assist with audit requests and provide required documentation.
• Contribute to process‑improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency and accuracy.

Required profile

• Previous experience in accounts payable, preferably in a shared services setting.
• Proven ability to handle high transaction volumes with strong attention to detail.
• Experience processing employee expenses and supplier invoices.
• Good understanding of invoice processing, payment management and reconciliations.
