Senior AI Automation & Service Engineer

About the role

As a Senior Engineer you will independently lead automation initiatives across the employee experience lifecycle while serving as a hands‑on technical resource for day‑to‑day service delivery and desktop support. You’ll optimise workflows, implement AI‑powered integrations and manage core service tooling to support Bumble’s zero‑ops vision.

Key responsibilities

• Administer and configure Jira Service Management, including workflows, queues, automation rules, permission schemes and reporting dashboards.
• Maintain desktop engineering standards such as OS imaging, application packaging, patch management and endpoint lifecycle management.
• Provide Service Desk support, triage tickets and perform first‑line troubleshooting for hardware, software and account access issues.
• Integrate AI agents into service experiences (e.g., employee chatbots, self‑service tools) and partner with support and platform teams to automate common issues.
• Analyze service data to prioritise automation impact and mentor junior engineers on automation best practices.
• Perform hands‑on physical tasks including workstation setup, AV troubleshooting, hardware swaps and network equipment adjustments.

Required profile

• 6+ years of experience in engineering and workplace technology.
• Proven ability to solve complex service problems using automation and AI‑driven techniques.
• Initiative to identify automation opportunities and influence team standards.

Required skills

• Administration of Jira Service Management.
• Strong scripting proficiency in Python and Bash.
• Experience with Slack integrations and MDM tools (e.g., Iru) for macOS endpoint automation.
• Familiarity with ThousandEyes or similar network monitoring tools.
• Solid understanding of networking and endpoint security.
