Senior Category Manager – Supply Chain

About the role

ASOS is seeking a Senior Category Manager to lead the end‑to‑end management of its supply‑chain categories. Reporting to the Head of Procurement, you will shape strategy, sourcing and performance across last‑mile, air, sea, warehousing and automation services for a global fast‑paced online retailer.

Key responsibilities

• Own the strategy, sourcing and performance of last‑mile, air, sea, warehousing and automation categories, ensuring commercial and operational excellence.
• Build cost models, benchmark rates and identify savings across delivery, freight, fulfilment and automation solutions.
• Track global trends in parcel delivery, freight markets, warehouse technology and automation to inform category strategies.
• Develop and manage SLAs, KPIs and QBRs with courier, freight and warehousing partners to drive speed, reliability and cost efficiency.
• Partner with Supply Chain, Finance, Legal, Tech and Sustainability teams to align logistics solutions with business priorities.
• Assess and mitigate operational, geopolitical, capacity and compliance risks across courier networks, freight lanes and warehouse operations.
• Support sustainability goals by evaluating emissions and promoting lower‑impact delivery, freight and warehousing alternatives.
• Identify emerging technologies in delivery, automation and fulfilment, assessing commercial and operational viability.
• Use analytics, forecasting and scenario modelling to guide sourcing, network design and performance optimisation.
• Present category strategies, commercial recommendations and performance insights to senior leadership.

Required profile

• Proven experience in category management or procurement within a large, global retail or e‑commerce environment.
• Strong analytical mindset with ability to build cost models and conduct scenario analysis.
• Excellent stakeholder management skills, capable of influencing cross‑functional teams and senior leaders.
• Understanding of logistics, freight, warehousing and automation markets.
• Experience in risk assessment and sustainability considerations in supply‑chain sourcing.
