Senior Client Accountant (Contract)

About the role

This contract position offers an experienced Senior Client Accountant the chance to lead accounting activities for a diverse property portfolio in Birmingham. You will be responsible for delivering accurate financial reporting, ensuring compliance, and providing a high level of service to both clients and internal stakeholders.

Key responsibilities

• Manage client and property accounting across a varied portfolio.
• Prepare financial statements, including profit & loss, balance sheet, and reconciliations.
• Oversee service charge accounting, VAT processing, and financial controls.
• Act as the primary contact for client queries, delivering insight and resolution.
• Support audit processes and uphold agreed service level agreements.
• Identify and implement improvements to reporting, controls, and operational efficiency.
• Provide mentorship and guidance to junior colleagues when required.

Required profile

• Proven experience in client, property, or service charge accounting.
• Strong understanding of financial reporting, reconciliations, and accounting controls.
• Part‑qualified or fully qualified (ACCA, CIMA) or equivalent experience.
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to manage stakeholders and meet deadlines.

Required skills

• Advanced Excel proficiency.
• Experience with finance/property systems such as Yardi, Qube or Tramps.

• £225 day rate.

• Initial contract of 3‑6 months with potential for extension.
