Senior Clinical Negligence Lawyer – 4+ PQE

About the role

Our client, a respected claimant law firm in Manchester, is expanding its Clinical Negligence team. They seek a senior solicitor with at least four years post‑qualification experience to manage high‑value claimant cases on a hybrid basis.

Key responsibilities

• Lead clinical negligence matters from initial client interview through settlement or trial.
• Handle a diverse portfolio including misdiagnosis, complex brain injury, spinal injury, and birth injury claims.
• Gather and assess medical evidence, instruct counsel, and coordinate with expert witnesses.
• Manage Judicial Settlement Meetings (JSMs) and alternative dispute resolution (ADR) processes.
• Prepare profit‑cost forecasts and collaborate with the in‑house costs team.

Required profile

• Qualified solicitor or chartered legal executive with a minimum of 4+ years PQE in clinical negligence.
• Proven track record of managing high‑value claimant caseloads.
• Strong communication, client care, and leadership abilities.
• Experience in strategy development for complex litigation and mentoring junior staff.

Required skills

• Advocacy and negotiation experience, including JSMs and ADR.
• Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.
