Senior Cost Controller (OWC) – Hybrid, London

About the role

Verve is seeking a Senior Cost Controller to own end‑to‑end cost controlling across the group, including operating, capital, headcount and technology spend. This hybrid role, based in London, will partner with finance, product and engineering teams to drive cost transparency, efficiency and strategic decision‑making.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the annual cost budgeting process and rolling forecasts, building bottom‑up plans with department heads.
• Produce monthly and quarterly cost reporting packages, including variance analysis and executive commentary.
• Monitor key cost KPIs, flag deviations early, and develop cost‑saving initiatives.
• Design and maintain cost allocation models across entities, cost centres, products and projects.
• Build scenario and sensitivity models to translate cost decisions into P&L and cash impact.
• Manage the monthly calculation and posting of Verve’s Own Work Capitalized (OWC) under IAS 38.
• Prepare audit documentation and act as primary contact for auditors on cost capitalization matters.
• Collaborate with Finance Operations and Group Accounting to ensure accurate cost coding, accruals and month‑end close.

Required profile

• Degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics or a related field.
• Significant experience in cost controlling, budgeting and financial reporting.
• Strong analytical mindset with ability to influence senior stakeholders.
• Experience working with cross‑functional teams in a fast‑moving environment.
