Senior Data Engineer (AWS) – Manchester

About the role

We are seeking a Senior Data Engineer with deep AWS expertise to join our client’s Data Engineering team in Manchester. You will own the design, development and operation of robust data pipelines that power real‑time analytics and business intelligence.

Key responsibilities

• Design, build and maintain scalable ETL pipelines using AWS services.
• Develop real‑time data integration solutions across multiple platforms.
• Automate data workflows and improve existing processes.
• Support cloud migration initiatives and implement architectural best practices.
• Ensure data quality, integrity and governance throughout the pipeline.
• Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to translate business needs into technical solutions.

Required profile

• Proven experience with AWS Glue, Lambda, S3, Redshift and Amazon EMR.
• Strong programming skills in Python and SQL.
• Hands‑on experience with pipeline orchestration tools and PySpark.
• Knowledge of data lakehouse and data warehousing architectures.
• Experience working in Agile delivery environments.
• Excellent communication skills for both technical and non‑technical audiences.
