Senior Data Engineer / Modeller

About the role

This is a hands‑on senior data engineering position focused on the full data lifecycle. You will design scalable platforms, build robust pipelines, and create well‑structured data models that deliver actionable business insight. The role sits in a small, collaborative team working closely with both technical colleagues and non‑technical stakeholders.

Key responsibilities

• Design and deliver conceptual, logical and dimensional data models for analytics and reporting.
• Build and optimise data platforms and ETL/ELT pipelines in cloud environments.
• Ingest and integrate data from APIs, databases and flat files.
• Translate business requirements into scalable, maintainable data solutions.
• Apply best practices for data governance, quality and security.
• Communicate technical concepts clearly to clients and stakeholders.
• Support junior team members and share knowledge within the team.

Required profile

• Approximately 5 years of experience in data engineering or data consultancy.
• Strong background in data modelling, preferably dimensional (Kimball).
• Proven ability to design solutions that support analytics and decision‑making.
• Solid coding skills in SQL and Python; experience with Spark/SQL variants is a plus.
• Experience with cloud data platforms such as Azure, Databricks or Snowflake.
• Understanding of modern data architectures like medallion or lakehouse approaches.
• Familiarity with Agile delivery and cross‑functional team collaboration.
• Confident communicator with strong stakeholder engagement skills.
