Senior Digital Forensics and Incident Response Consultant

About the role

Cypfer is a leading first‑responder cybersecurity firm that helps organisations recover quickly after cyber‑attacks. We are looking for a Senior Digital Forensics and Incident Response (DFIR) Consultant to lead complex investigations, perform forensic analyses across multiple platforms, and design strategic incident‑response plans.

Key responsibilities

• Engage with insurance partners, legal counsel, client executives and technical teams to drive incident‑response activities.
• Collect forensic artifacts, images and logs from Windows, Unix/Linux and network environments using standard tools.
• Perform host, network and malware forensics, analyze indicators of compromise and build event timelines.
• Develop mitigation strategies, conduct threat research and stay current on emerging threats.
• Write clear, concise reports and participate in an on‑call rotation, including weekend and off‑hours work.

Required profile

• Fluent English communication skills.
• Ability to work independently, produce high‑quality deliverables with minimal supervision.
• Strong customer‑service and consulting mindset, able to remain calm in difficult client situations.
• Willingness to travel on short notice (up to 50% of time) for 1‑2 week deployments.

Required skills

• 5+ years in digital forensics, incident response or related field.
• Deep knowledge of Windows and Unix/Linux operating systems.
• Expertise in threat hunting, network forensics, EDR/EPP technologies.
• Experience with forensic acquisition and analysis of physical and virtual systems.
• Strong understanding of networking, routing, firewalls and storage technologies (RAID, NAS, SAN, Fibre Channel, iSCSI, NFS).
• Proficiency in log analysis, SIEM and SOAR solutions.
• Familiarity with business email compromise investigations and e‑discovery tools.
