Senior Electrical Design Engineer - Infrastructure Projects

About the Role

Join our rapidly expanding M&E team within the Infrastructure sector. As a Senior Electrical Design Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in the development, design, and coordination of electrical services for large-scale infrastructure projects, serving both prestigious UK-based and international clients.

Main Responsibilities

• Lead the design and specification of MV/LV power supply systems, including single-line diagrams, load schedules, cable calculations, and general arrangements.
• Manage the design of diverse electrical systems such as fire alarms, security, lighting, lightning protection, and earthing.
• Draft comprehensive technical specifications and ensure high-quality engineering standards.
• Collaborate closely with multidisciplinary teams and utilize BIM workflows to ensure seamless project integration.
• Conduct technical design reviews, participate in project meetings, and perform site surveys and inspections.
• Ensure all designs comply with quality processes, governance, and safety regulations.

Candidate Profile

• Degree in Electrical Engineering is essential.
• Chartered Engineer status (or equivalent professional accreditation).
• Proven track record of working on major infrastructure projects within the UK.
• Strong understanding of British Standards and CDM 2015 regulations.
• Commitment to sustainable design and energy reduction methodologies.

Required Skills

• Proficiency in electrical design software: Amtech, Dialux, and ETAP.
• Advanced BIM capabilities: Revit or Open Buildings Designer.
• Expertise in MV/LV systems and electrical protection.
• Strong technical coordination and multidisciplinary collaboration skills.
