Senior Engineer – Civil Structures

About the role

As a Senior Engineer – Civil Structures you will lead the early‑stage design of civil and structural elements for rail, highway, energy and multidisciplinary infrastructure projects. You will work on bridges, stations and heavy civil works, ensuring integration with other engineering disciplines and delivering efficient, buildable solutions.

Key responsibilities

• Develop concept and detailed designs for bridges, stations and related civil structures.
• Coordinate design efforts with multidisciplinary teams, including structural, geotechnical and construction engineers.
• Support inspection, strengthening and replacement design of existing infrastructure.
• Liaise with key stakeholders such as Network Rail and Transport for London (TfL) to align design solutions with client requirements.
• Prepare design documentation, calculations and reports in accordance with relevant standards.

Required profile

• Qualified civil/structural engineer with several years of experience in infrastructure design.
• Proven experience delivering bridge and heavy civil projects.
• Ability to work collaboratively with clients, architects and contractors.
• Strong understanding of UK railway and highway design standards.
