Senior Finance Business Partner – Commercial

About the role

The Senior Finance Business Partner – Commercial will act as the primary finance advisor to the sales organisation, providing commercial insight and challenge on high‑value opportunities. You will shape pricing, deal structures and profitability models to secure business on favourable terms for Claranet.

Key responsibilities

• Lead financial input into bids, tenders and major proposals, ensuring accuracy and alignment with strategic objectives.
• Develop and communicate robust commercial models, highlighting P&L and cash‑flow impacts for internal stakeholders and customers.
• Design flexible deal models incorporating discounts, credits, rebates and milestone‑based billing.
• Support renewals and retention by delivering timely financial models that optimise pricing and margin.
• Partner with the Portfolio team to embed data‑driven pricing methodologies aligned with CPQ processes.
• Drive consistency in deal modelling, cost‑to‑serve frameworks and pricing tools across the business.
• Provide commercial approval for deals and act as senior escalation point for complex transactions.
• Lead sales budgeting, forecasting and KPI target setting over a three‑year horizon.
• Own customer‑level profitability analysis and support the design of the annual commission plan.

Required profile

• Qualified ACA, ACCA or CIMA with at least 5 years post‑qualification experience.
• Strong commercial awareness and experience in a commercial finance role.
• Excellent analytical, problem‑solving and communication skills.
• Ability to influence senior stakeholders and drive continuous improvement.
• Self‑motivated, detail‑oriented and able to work under pressure.
