Senior Financial Accountant

About the role

Our client, a leading consumer technology platform in the fintech space, is expanding its global payments business across EMEA. The Senior Financial Accountant will own the general‑ledger accounting and month‑/quarter‑end close for the Global Payments entities, ensuring the books are audit‑ and regulator‑ready.

Key responsibilities

• Lead GL accounting and month‑end/quarter‑end close for Global Payments entities and those pursuing regulatory licences across EMEA.
• Manage finance‑readiness workstreams for newly licensed entities, including chart of accounts set‑up, opening balances, policy alignment and internal controls.
• Prepare and review IFRS‑to‑local GAAP reconciliations and reporting packages for Group Finance.
• Support statutory financial statements and coordinate the external audit relationship.
• Partner with Compliance and Regulatory Reporting teams on submissions to regulators such as the FCA, BaFin, CBI and DFSA.
• Collaborate with Business, Treasury, Tax, Legal and Compliance functions to understand commercial and operational realities.

Required profile

• ACA or ACCA qualified, preferably with experience at a top‑10 accountancy firm.
• Background in global payments, fintech or other regulated financial services.
• Experience supporting entities through regulatory licensing processes (EMI, PI or equivalent) is highly desirable.
• Comfortable operating across cultures and time zones.
• Proactive, hands‑on operator able to build process and control frameworks from scratch.
