Senior Geotechnical Design Engineer

About the role

We are seeking a Senior Geotechnical Design Engineer to join a leading multidisciplinary engineering consultancy in London. You will work on high‑profile residential, commercial, infrastructure and energy projects, providing technical leadership and client development.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the design of foundations, retaining structures, slopes and earthworks solutions.
• Perform complex geotechnical analysis and design calculations.
• Review and interpret ground investigation data and geotechnical reports.
• Prepare technical reports, specifications and design documentation.
• Manage projects from feasibility through detailed design and construction support.
• Mentor graduate and junior engineers.
• Attend client meetings and build strong professional relationships.
• Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams to deliver integrated solutions.
• Conduct site visits and provide technical support during construction.
• Ensure compliance with design standards, legislation and best practice.

Required profile

• Degree in Civil, Geotechnical Engineering, Engineering Geology or related discipline.
• Chartered status (or working towards chartership) with a relevant professional body.
• Extensive experience in a geotechnical design consultancy.
• Strong commercial awareness and client liaison experience.
• Full UK driving licence preferred.
