Senior Internal Audit Specialist

About the role

As a Senior Internal Audit Specialist within Munich Re’s UK Internal Audit Hub, you will deliver independent audit services across a range of UK entities. You will act as a trusted advisor to senior management, providing assurance, insights and recommendations that support the achievement of strategic objectives.

Key responsibilities

• Lead, execute or support internal audit engagements, selecting appropriate audit tools and techniques for each assignment.
• Analyse whole‑population data sets to identify risks and control gaps.
• Prepare formal audit reports, grade findings, and present recommendations to stakeholders.
• Monitor the implementation of audit recommendations and conduct follow‑up audits as needed.
• Develop and maintain strong relationships with business owners and contribute to audit planning.
• Provide ad‑hoc consultancy and stay current with regulatory changes and audit best practices.

Required profile

• Proven experience in internal audit, preferably within insurance or financial services.
• Strong analytical mindset with the ability to interpret large data sets.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder‑management skills.
• Self‑motivated, results‑driven and capable of working independently.
