Senior Java Software Engineer

About the role

We are seeking a Senior Java Software Engineer to join a fast‑growing team delivering high‑impact digital programmes across the UK. You will work within mature, cross‑functional squads, applying modern engineering practices to design and build innovative solutions for a diverse client base.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop and maintain high‑quality Java applications and RESTful APIs using Spring Boot / Spring MVC.
• Contribute across the full software development lifecycle, from requirements to production support.
• Build and secure services with Docker, Kubernetes and CI/CD pipelines.
• Collaborate with engineers, architects and business stakeholders to drive digital transformation.
• Support live services, troubleshoot complex production issues and ensure system reliability.

Required profile

• Strong experience in Java development (experience with Kotlin or Scala is a plus).
• Solid understanding of OOP, SOLID principles and design patterns.
• Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure or GCP.
• Mentoring experience and a passion for delivering high‑quality solutions.
• Willingness to obtain UK Security Clearance (SC) if required.
